Position: Safety and Cause Analyses Consultant

Orion Managed Services, LLC. (Orion) is hiring Safety and Cause Analyses Consultants. These are full-time, salaried positions. Some over-time and weekend work may be required. The position requires the ability to travel on a 25 to 50 percent basis, as client needs may dictate. Qualified individuals will hold Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Certified Industrial Hygienist, Process Safety Management Professional (PSMP), Lean Six Sigma Blackbelt (LSS) or related certifications.

Successful applicants will have direct experience with gas and electric utility operations and shall demonstrate at least 10 years overall experience as a safety professional and 5-years of experience leading and facilitating multi-disciplinary cause analyses and safety incident reviews related to electric, and power generation facilities.

Requirements:

• Four-year BS degree in engineering, industrial hygiene, sciences, construction management, or related field
• Driver’s license
• Certified Safety Professional, Certified Industrial Hygienist, Process Safety Management Professional, Lean Six Sigma Blackbelt, or related certifications and experience
• Bow-tie analyses, Ishikawa analyses, Human Factors, and related experience.
• Mastery of Microsoft Office:  Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and related software tools
• At least 5-years of experience leading cause investigations and root cause analyses
• At least 5-years of experience working for or providing services to investor-owned gas and electric utilities
• Knowledge of safety procedures for operations, maintenance, and construction of high-voltage electrical equipment, including generation, transmission, distribution and substation assets
• Strong interpersonal skills, ability to resolve problems, and to work with staff and utility customers effectively.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Demonstrable success leading and facilitating cause investigations
• Ability to pass a pre-employment background check and drug screening
• Ability to periodically travel overnight
• Ability to work over-time and occasionally to work weekends

Desired:

• Masters degree in business administration, engineering, or related scientific field
• Professional Engineer (PE), in state of California
• Familiarity with CAL OSHA Title 8 High-Voltage Electrical Safety Orders
• OSHA 30-hour Construction Safety Certification
• Project Management Professional Certificate (PMP)
• OSHA Hazwoper 40-hr. cert.
• Current First Aid and CPR certificate
