Position: Registered Professional Forester
Location: Northern California

​Orion Managed Services, LLC. (Orion) is hiring a Registered Professional Forester (RPF) willing to travel within northern and central California. The position requires the ability to travel on a 25 to 75 percent basis, as business needs dictate. Qualified individuals will hold a license as a Registered Professional Forester (RPF) in California.

Successful applicants will have direct experience with utility-oriented forestry practices and shall demonstrate at least 5-years of experience working with forest-related practices, standards, procedures, and policies. Duties of the RPF may include preparation and maintenance of forest resource inventories; developing guidance for field-based utility vegetation inspectors; preparation of timber harvest plans; performing forest-related environmental assessments, impact analyses, and reports; appraising timber stand market value; and completing restoration plans.

Requirements

• California Registered Professional Forester
• Bachelor degree in forestry, masters is preferred
• Strong interpersonal skills, ability to resolve problems, and to work with staff and utility customers effectively.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Proficient in use of Microsoft Office Suite
• Experience working with GIS data collection hardware and software
• Valid driver's license

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $90,000.00 - $135,000.00 per year
