Project Manager

 
Orion Managed Services, LLC. (Orion) is hiring Project Managers. Qualified individuals (candidates) will support field projects associated with utility infrastructure, asset hardening, vegetation management, and post-wildfire support for removal and rebuild projects. In these project leadership roles, successful candidates will lead project teams that support Orion’s client needs for maintaining, making / keeping safe assets, and managing a variety of projects. You will team with other project managers, Orion construction managers, and field safety personnel to oversee project delivery for safe and compliant field delivery and project implementation. Project Managers are also involved with developing new scopes of work, responding to bids, and reviewing estimates for constructability and cost feasibility. These are full-time, salary positions.
Responsibilities:
  • Serving as a Project Manager of Orion or Client site work.
  • Collaborate with engineers, architects, and other construction personnel.
  • Maintaining strong communication with client project manager(s), and other client representatives.
  • Coordinating daily site activities with Orion construction managers.
  • Reviewing contract documents against project activities, coordinating with the construction manager for daily tasks and schedules, documenting field work progress.
  • Planning and leading Utility infrastructure, asset hardening, vegetation management, and rebuild projects.
  • Developing scopes of work, assessing scope alternatives, performing constructability reviews, and supporting project cost estimating.
  • Development of bid specification documents
  • Creating and managing project budgets.
  • Attending bid interviews with clients as well as subcontractors
  • Participating in client progress meetings, working with the construction manager to maintain safe and compliant jobsites, and preparing final reports.
  • Preparing site-specific Health & Safety Plans
  • Ensuring that our project team is adhering and conforming to Orion safety procedures and emergency action plans, conducting daily safety / tailgate meetings, and maintaining site safety records.
  • Ensuring compliance with all environmental, health and safety requirements and ensuring adherence to all permit requirements, including daily, weekly, monthly and job close-out reporting.
  • Maintain continuous communication with the construction manager to evaluate subcontractor performance.
  • Negotiating and resolving change order requests.
  • Ensuring project delivery is in conformance with project plans and specifications.

Requirements:
  • BS in Construction Management, Construction Science, Civil, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering, or related degree with 7 or more years of experience in heavy construction or relevant industrial field experience.
  • Construction Project Management (10+ years) may be considered in lieu of related degree.
  • Experience with construction sites, managing field execution and preparing scope requirements and review of work plans.
  • Proven organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, and analytical thinking.
  • Strong workplan and report writing skills are a must.
  • Provide excellent client service and communication, as well as detailed project deliverables.
  • Microsoft Excel, Word, Power Point, and Microsoft Project scheduling capabilities.
  • Willingness to travel.  Candidates should expect 25-50% of their time vising their field projects
  • Ability to pass a background check and drug screen.
